About MINT

Our volunteers are on a mission to bring resources and services directly to the unhoused community to reduce barriers to care, improve health outcomes, and improved quality of life.

Our vision is to bridge the gap regarding access to quality medical care and to connect those who are unsheltered/unhoused with vital social, behavioral, and medical resources in the community. Central to our purpose is to bring all the key services to where the unsheltered live.

MINT is powered by volunteers. We are made up of several nurses, doctors, and others with diverse skill sets, making about 15 of us. We provide weekly park outreach, leading the collaboration of up to 15 other service organizations outreaching right where unhoused individuals live. In addition to the scheduled events, our incredible volunteers can be found pretty much each day in our parks providing medical care, care coordination, advocacy, hospital follow-up, and much more.

We are dedicated to helping individuals experiencing homelessness secure housing and access essential services with as few obstacles as possible.

The people we serve often live in debilitating poverty, cannot find affordable housing, and lack a social safety net, such as a family or friend, who can house them. Some have problems with substance use and addiction, and some have mental health and other behavioral needs. We also see many without substance use or mental health issues who are elderly or disabled and simply cannot find affordable housing.

We are very grateful for the organizations that serve beside us!
